French musicians to perform at Minsk Town Hall on 14 July
The concert Minsk-Paris will take place near the Minsk Town Hall on 14 July, BelTA learned from the French Embassy in Belarus.
The event will be timed to the French national holiday and will bring together Belarusian and French musicians. The popular Belarusian band Shuma will open the concert. The band has recently released a music video for the song “Clouds” which was shortlisted at the Gulf of Naples Independent Film Festival.
The concert will also feature the Nizkiz band from Mogilev. The band plays rather heavy music and performs original songs in Russian and Belarusian. The band took part in major European festivals.
The concert will round off with a performance from the unusual French band Swing of France. This quartet erases time and genre boundaries and defines its music as a tribute to the great musicians of the 1940s. The musicians believe that a risky combination of a swing improvisation and traditional French waltz musette has created new music which will be a symbol of France forever. Over 500 concerts the band gave in France and Europe have proven the band's success. Their music is also perfect for dancing, especially on a summer evening.
The concert will be held on the initiative of the French Embassy on Belarus.
